On Friday, Sept. 18, following a competitive procurement process, the Province announced that Kicking Horse Canyon Constructors has been selected to enter into the final contract negotiations for Phase 4 of the Kicking Horse Canyon project.

The group consists of Aecon Group Inc, Parsons Inc and Emil Anderson Construction.

Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp) is leading the delivery of Phase 4 on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

Phase 4 will seen the final section of the highway through the canyon and into Golden widened and a meridian barrier added for safety.

Limited preliminary work is expected to start this fall prior to the final contract award, which is expected later this year. Traffic will be minimally impacted at this point in time.

According to a press release from the Province, the Kicking Horse Canyon Project remains one of the Province’s top transportation priorities.
