After a near-death experience, KidFest is back on track and was granted approval for use of Community Park council Monday night.
“I just have to say how pleased I am,” said Councillor Carrie Powell-Davidson, “The call went out in the media and the community responded. This event was so close to getting cancelled and I’m really tickled at the help that has stepped up and enabled this event to go forward.”
The 21st annual event was saved when volunteer directors and coordinators stepped up at their AGM in March.
The family fun and information day which attracts hundreds of people every year is now set for Sunday, Aug. 18, the final day of the Quality Foods Canadian Open Sand Sculpting Competition and Exhibition.
Details are yet to be confirmed, but it usually includes dozens of vendors, community booths and live entertainment.
