Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station #106 member Fred Banham helps Parkview Elementary student Malachi Gossen try on a cold-water immersion suit during a “Kids Don’t Float” boating and water safety presentation by Banham and fellow Station #106 member Bruce Weicker. The presentation, featuring Bobbie the Safety Boat, will be offered to Carlin, North Canoe and South Broadview schools. Meanwhile, Station #106 is setting up Kids Don’t Float stations at public docks/boat launches throughout the Shuswap where personal flotation devices will be made available for children to borrow while out on the lake.
