As part of the National Impaired Driving campaign, Kimberley RCMP conducted a number of road checks over the weekend. No impaired drivers were found, which shows drivers are making alternate arrangements.

There were a few other traffic incidents that officers dealt with.  On Sunday Dec 4, an officer stopped and charged three drivers with No Insurance. In addition to a violation ticket of $598, the vehicles are towed.

A young male driver received an excessive speed ticket and had his vehicle impounded after an officer observed him traveling well above the posted speed limit on Jim Ogilvie Way in Kimberley.  The incident, which took place on Dec 1, just after 100 p.m., was particularly dangerous given the poor road conditions and lighting. The Violation Ticket was for more than 60 km over the posted speed limit.
