If you are interested in Mayor Don McCormick’s views on what’s going on in Kimberley and what lies ahead, or if you have some questions for the Mayor, you’ll want to attend a special State of the City event this Thursday evening at Centre 64.
Hosted by the Kimberley and District Chamber of Commerce, the event will feature an update from the Mayor and then a question and answer session afterwards.
“We look forward to hosting it and hope to make it an annual tradition,” said Chamber manager Mike Guarnery.
“A big part of making sure taxpayers are not surprised by things we do at City Hall is by communicating not just ‘what’ we are doing, but ‘why’ we are doing it,”McCormick said.
“We have worked hard to improve communication and this is just one more tool to make sure we are connected with the community. It also affords an opportunity to get feedback on those issues that are most pressing in the community.
“I will be talking about both current and future priorities and action we are taking to move those priorities forward.”
The Chamber encourages those who wish to attend to contact the Chamber of Commerce to reserve a seat — Centre 64’s theatre only seats just over 100. Call 250-427-3666.
Doors open at 6:30 and the speech begins at 7 p.m.
