Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 183 calls for service from September 5th, 8 a.m. till September 10th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, 33 people were lodged in Terrace cells – 17 of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
Suicidal 19-year-old woman. Police had to force entry into a room to apprehend the woman. The woman had a knife that police managed to pry from her possession when she refused to follow direction. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
Intoxicated man stealing from Safeway and refusing to leave the store. Police arrested the 34-year-old man. He was in breach of probation condition to abstain from the consumption of alcohol. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Domestic assault inside of the Northern. A man assaulted a woman. Police arrested an intoxicated 71-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Police conducted checks on a group of persons observed in the area of the tennis courts on Kalum St. A 34-year-old man was arrested for breaching his probation conditions of not to be outside of his residence from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. and not to be under the influence of alcohol outside of his residence. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
A woman bit, kicked, and scratched a man who was holding her back from attacking another woman on Munroe St./Labelle Ave. Police arrested a 35-year-old woman. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Theft from the Skeena Liquor Store. The thief dropped one of the bottles on his exit and it smashed on the ground. Police arrested the 34-year-old man a short distance away. He was in breach of probation by being intoxicated. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Two suspicious fires in the area of Water Lilly Bay/Hwy 37/Old Lakelse Lake Dr. Under investigation. Three males wearing dark clothing on skateboards were observed in the area prior to the time of the fire.
Suicidal 43-year-old woman. Police apprehended the woman under the Mental Health Act. BC Ambulance transported the woman to Mills Memorial Hospital.
A woman refusing to leave a residence. The 19 yr old woman was located on top of the roof of a dilapidated shed in possession of a pitch fork. She was not cooperative with police. The pitch fork was taken away without incident. Police apprehended the woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Suicidal woman on Terrace Mountain. The 23-year-old woman was located screaming for help. She had sustained injury. BC Ambulance, Terrace Fire Department, and Terrace Search and Rescue were called to assist in extracting the woman off the mountain. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Intoxicated man passed out on Greig Ave. The 38-year-old man was in breach of undertaking conditions of not to consume and not be in possession of alcohol. The man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Deceased 41-year-old man at a residence on 1st Ave, Lakelse Lake. Under investigation.
Theft of alcohol from the Coast Inn of the West Cold Beer and Wine Store. Police located the woman sitting on a bench across from the Coast consuming the stolen merchandise. The 51-year-old woman was arrested.
A kitten was drop kicked like a football then left for a pitbull dog to attack. Police spoke with people in the area. The kitten was not located.
Domestic dispute. A man cut up a large amount of a women’s clothing. Police arrested an intoxicated 41-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Break and enter. Theft of a braided gold necklace from a residence on Muller Ave.
Harassment complaint. Under investigation.
Police observed a man passed out in the bushes at Hanson St./Olson Ave. Checks determined that the man was in breach of conditions to abstain from the possession or consumption of alcohol. The 36-year-old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Man refusing to leave a residence. Police arrested a 44-year-old man for breaching conditions of no contact with a person and not go to a location. He is held for court.
A grey 2012 Ford F150 hit the ditch on Hwy 16 west near the Shames Mountain Ski Hill. The 19-year-old driver sustained minor injuries and the 20-year-old passenger sustained numerous serious injuries. The driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. She was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded. Both women were transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by BC Ambulance.
The driver’s side window of a brown 2007 Toyota Tacoma was smashed out with a rock while it was parked on Park Ave. sometime during the night of Sept. 9/10.
Robbery. A 32-year-old man was walking in front of Caledonia School at approximately 3:30 a.m. on September 9th and was approached from behind and struck with an object on the back of his head. He lost consciousness. A wallet, cellphone, and shoes were stolen from him. Under investigation.
Domestic dispute. An intoxicated man provided a false name to police during the investigation. Checks determined that he was in breach of undertaking condition to obtain from the possession and consumption of alcohol. The 29-year-old man was arrested. He was aggressive and fought police. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
There have been six impaired driving investigations resulting in four Immediate Roadside Prohibitions being issued and two separate charges of Impaired Driving forwarded to Crown Counsel.
There have been three incidents of driving while prohibited with charges being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
