Knife used in robbery of Maple Ridge convenience store

Ridge Meadows RCMP are investigating a robbery at a convenience store Sunday.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., a lone male walked into a convenience store in the 21600 block of Dewdney Trunk Road. Heproduced a knife and demanded money.

The suspect left after getting an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen running toward 216 Street.

“This was a brazen robbery that occurred in broad daylight, and caused significant emotional to the victim,” Cpl. AmandaHarnett said. “Police will be utilizing all available resources to identify the suspect.”

He is described as a Caucasian male in his 30s, 5’10”, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with ared shirt underneath, a touque, and running shoes.

The Integrated Forensic Identification Section is assisting in the investigation.
