For the second week in a row, COVID-19 cases continued to rise in the Kootenay Boundary area.
While the Kootenay Boundary remains one of the areas with the lowest new case count in the province, the region saw 33 new cases diagnosed for the week of April 2 – 8. There were 22 new cases for the week of March 22 – 30.
For the week of March 28 – April 3, there were four new cases in both Castlegar and Trail, eight new cases in Nelson and Creston and three in Grand Forks.
The previous week (March 21 – 27) there were two new cases in Castlegar, seven in Nelson, six in Trail, two in Creston and three in Grand Forks.

In the Kootenay Boundary region the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases from January 2020 through April 8, 2021 was 288.
The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases from January 2020 through March 2021 for Castlegar was 23, Nelson/Salmo had 87 and Trail had 31.
