Ladysmith girl donates hair to Wigs for Kids BC

Four-yea-old raises over $1200 for non-profit

A young Ladysmith girl sat down for the first big haircut of her young life on Wednesday afternoon at Twisted Scissor Lounge with the end result going towards a good cause.

Bria Cahill is donating a total of 10 inches of her hair to Wigs for Kids BC, a partnership of the BC Children’s Hospital that provides support for children battling cancer.

The four-year-old has also raised $1,235 for the non-profit in only a week.

Cahill was inspired after learning last year about a Crofton girl who donated 14 inches of hair and raised $900 dollars for Wigs for Kids.

Mom Brittany Cahill explained there is a history of cancer in the family and her daughter felt it was important that she do her part to support others her age suffering from the disease.

The family plans to travel to the mainland to hand deliver both the hair and all the money raised before this Friday.
