To finish off the year in true community spirit, Lake City Casinos made a final donation to Cops for Kids as a part of their ongoing financial support.

Lake City Casinos continually demonstrates their commitment to the community by supporting the foundation and this year is no exception.

Today’s donation brings their year-end total to over $15,000 to Cops for Kids and the 2012 Cops for Kids Ride.

The signature event is a 10-day cycling journey from Kelowna that takes the team of 25 RCMP riders across the South Eastern portion of British Columbia, in order to raise funds and awareness for children in medical, physical or traumatic crisis.

Over the past 11 years, Lake City Casinos has dedicated over $100,000 to Cops for Kids to support children in our communities.

“The Cops for Kids ride has become one of the most notable fundraising events in our community each year,” said Jerry Pokorny, Lake City Casino General Manager. “It’s our honour to be a part of the great work they do for children in the community, particularly at this time of year.”

Cops for Kids is grateful for the generosity shown by Lake City Casinos.

“The continued support from Lake City Casinos is what makes them one of our great partners since our inception.  Because of their generosity, we’re able to continue funding our growing requests for medical travel, learning & mobility aids,” maintains Cops for Kids President, Gail Harrison. “This is a fantastic way to end 2012 and gives us hope for a great 2013.”

The Cops for Kids Ride takes place September 6-15, 2013 across South Eastern British Columbia.
