The Okanagan’s largest art show, the Lake Country ArtWalk, will once again welcome visitors and art lovers, and has received an investment of $8,200 under the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.
This multi-arts festival highlights the work of established and emerging artists from throughout the community, and features dance, music and theatrical performances, as well as interactive workshops.
The 22nd Lake Country ArtWalk will take place on September 12 and 13, 2015.
The festival showcases more than 400 fine and performing artists, and features 3,000 original works of art spanning many genres, including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, quilting, photography and ceramics.
The mandate of the Lake Country ArtWalk is to support artists in British Columbia’s interior; provide the latest and best artworks to view, buy and enjoy; and offer a family‐friendly arts festival.
“The support from Canadian Heritage makes a tremendous difference in our ability to offer a high-quality arts festival at Lake Country ArtWalk. This grant enables us to include many local musicians and artists in our festival, ensuring that everyone attending ArtWalk will enjoy a rich and varied taste of our current creativity,” said Dr. Sharon McCoubrey, Chair, Lake Country ArtWalk Planning Committee
