Lake Cowichan Chamber hosting all-candidates meeting Oct. 8

To keep everyone safe during the pandemic, there will be three different timeslots

The Lake Cowichan District Chamber of Commerce is giving people the chance to meet and challenge the candidates running for mayor of Lake Cowichan in the Oct. 24 election.

The Chamber will be hosting an all-candidates meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8. To keep everyone safe during the pandemic, there will be three different timeslots, with 30 in-person seats available for each slot. Pre-register by Oct. 5 to lcchamber@shaw.ca. The first is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Everyone attending will be required to use a mask or face shield, physically distance and wash or sanitize their hands. Questions will be submitted in writing only.

For those who can’t attend in person there are other options for viewing. Shaw Spotlight will be recording the meeting for those who want to watch from home, and it will also go live on Facebook. There will also be a Zoom option for the 7 p.m to 9 p.m. timeslot.

The meeting will be held at Centennial Hall in Lake Cowichan, 309 South Shore Rd.
