The directorship will be comprised of most of the same faces as last year and there are still a couple of openings for new directors if anyone wishes to get involved in planning this year’s event.

Our next meeting was held Monday, February 7, in the Country Grocer community room. At this meeting, the theme for Lake Days 2011 was decided.

The theme for this year’s event will be “The Beat Goes On.” We plan to have a full weekend of music to go with all the activities in Saywell Park. The soap box derby will be back, as it was quite popular last year. The kits have been ordered and will be on sale in March.

There will be very few changes in the program from last year and we are looking forward to meeting our 2011 Lady of the Lake contestants and enjoying the events they offer during Lake Days’ week long celebrations. Please watch the Gazette for details of a Lake Days Logo Contest. We are looking for a logo that can be used from year to year and displayed on the new hoodies, tank tops and t-shirts we will be selling this year.

We will also be running a contest with local youth for the advertising logo for “Lake Days 2011 – Let The Beat Go On.”

If you wish to keep updated on the progress of this year’s event you can visit our Lake Days 2011 Facebook page or if you wish any further information send an e-mail to bobkday@live.ca, or phone 250-710-0742.

Our next meeting will be on Monday, March 7, at 7 p.m. upstairs in the Country Grocer meeting room.
