Western Foods has sold its Langford grocery store, but no changes are planned for the Sooke store.

Fairway Market will be rebranding and reopening the store at 722 Goldstream Ave. to a Fairway Market on March 1.

“Fairway Market is proud to take the reins from Western Food Langford and continue with the core values and traditions of quality products, quality service, and excellent value while supporting the community,” the company said in a statement last week.

Fairway opened its first store in 1963 and has grown to become one of the Vancouver Island’s largest independently owned grocery stores.

Western Foods began in 1974 with its first store in Langford and expanded to Sooke in 1995.
