Langley City bridge in midst of retrofit

Crews continue to work on a multi-faceted upgrade along 203rd Street, between Michaud and Grade Crescents.

Crews installed the structural steel beams to reinforce and expand the 203rd Street bridge over the Nicomekl River Tuesday.

The expansion will allow for new sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the north-south bridge.

It’s all part of a Langley City project to upgrade the Nicomekl River Bridge over 203rd Street, add a roundabout at 53rd Avenue.

The project began in late August, and is scheduled to be complete at the end of January 2017.

It means motorists accessing the areas between Michaud Crescent to the north, and Grade Crescent to the south have to use alternate routes. The roundabout at 53rd Avenue is in place, but road work continues throughout that area, as well.
