Police Grand Prairie, Alta., have arrested two men from Langley and Surrey and seized more than a kilogram of cocaine.

On Oct. 13, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team officers raided two homes following a month-long investigation.

They arrested Karman Singh Grewal, a 24-year-old Langley man, and Elson Blue Joy, a 22-year-old Kelowna man.

The drugs found were estimated at a value of more than $150,000, and included a kilogram of cocaine, 146 fentanyl pills, 155 grams of marijuana, 175 millilitres of GHB, two body armour vests, and more than $56,000 in cash.

“The seizure and the disruption of this criminal group will help to reduce the negative community impact created by the local drug trade,” said Supt. Don McKenna, officer in charge of the Grande Prairie RCMP.

Grewal has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

Joy is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, drug possession, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of stolen property, and possession of body armour.
