A 27-year-old Langley man has been arrested again, and this time he is being held in jail. He is facing additional child pornography charges.
An investigation by the BC Integrated Child Exploitation unit and the Integrated Sexual Predator Observation Team, with assistance by the Langley RCMP, has resulted in child pornography charges laid against Sean McIntyre, who is known to police.
McIntyre’s most recent charges are possession of child pornography and breach of recognizance.
A bail hearing for McIntyre was held in Surrey on Feb. 19, where he was ordered detained in custody until his trial, which has yet to be scheduled.
McIntyre had gone to trial in October and the case was put over to December 2014. He is charged with accessing, possessing and importing child pornography in December 2011, January 2012, February and December 2013, as well as breaching his release conditions that same December.
According to online court documents, he is scheduled to be sentenced in relation to those charges in Surrey Provincial Court on April 1.
He is now facing new charges of making or publishing child porn (laid on Feb. 12), and importing and possessing child porn (laid on Sept. 26, 2014.)
“The Integrated Child Exploitation Unit remains committed to catching people who possess child pornography. Each time those illegal images are viewed a child is re-victimized,” said Staff Sgt. Tyler Svendson, officer in charge of the behavioural sciences enforcement group.
