The army of people in the blue smocks already does so much. The Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary runs the hospital a gift shop, and Penny Pincher thrift shop, helps make patients more comfortable and helps loves one of patients.
And now the auxiliary will help Langley get its new emergency department built.
The Langley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is poised to make its biggest funding announcement in its history.
The auxiliary will join the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation at the Penny Pincher thrift store on Saturday morning to announce its contribution to the ER expansion campaign called Emergency Response.
Over the past 15 years, the volunteers of the auxiliary have provided close to $9 million to the hospital in addition to buying the thrift store property in Langley City.
The announcement is a festive affair starting at 11 a.m. and followed by refreshments, music and family-friendly activities.
The $30 million expansion includes a $15 million contribution from the hospital foundation.
