A piece of agricultural equipment caught fire in the 25200 block of River Road Thursday afternoon, causing damage to a barn.
The call came in at 4:59 p.m.
“It’s a non-hydrented area, so we called for a tender response,” explained Township deputy fire chief Russ Jenkins.
The fire department required crews from two halls and about half a dozen vehicles to fight the fire.
“The machinery itself was a complete write-off,” he said.
There was some damage to the barn and River Road had to be closed off temporarily.
