Langley’s Newlands Golf & Country Club up for sale for $40M

Course sits in both Township and City

One of Langley’s oldest golf courses is up for sale.

Newlands Golf & Country Club is listed for sale for $40 million, with real estate firms Colliers and Cushman & Wakefield handling the sale.

The property listing says the site of 111.71 acres includes 90,000 square feet of buildings and other improvements, including the banquet and wedding facility, bar and grill, a care centre and Montessori school, and a few single-family homes.

The site includes around six acres of land not in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR) that have future development potential, the listing says. The parking lot and most of the main structures are not in the ALR, but the vast bulk of the course is.

Newlands is located in the 21000 block of 48th Avenue, on the east side of Langley City. The City-Township municipal boundary cuts through Newlands, near where part of Murray Creek runs through the site north-to-south.

The course has played host to a large number of community and charitable events over the years, from golf tournaments to awards ceremonies.

The Langley Advance Times has reached out to Newlands for comment on the possible sale.
