The District of Lantzville will sign a two-year service agreement with the Regional District of Nanaimo.Lantzville councillors voted in favour of the agreement with the RDN at Monday’s council meeting. The deal will begin on the first day of 2017 and end on Dec. 31, 2018. As part of the agreement the Regional District of Nanaimo will provide a range of services to Lantzville, including building inspection, bylaw enforcement emergency planning services, mapping services and animal control services. The annual fee for agreement is determined through a cost recovery formula generated by the Regional District of Nanaimo. Lantzville’s service fees to the RDN were $82,248 for 2016. Mayor Colin Haime and Lantzville councillors Denise Haime and John Coulson were absent from Monday’s meeting.
