Lhtako Dene Nation ups COVID-19 restrictions

In a notice to members, new restrictions are outlined

  • Sep. 21, 2021 12:00 a.m.

Lhtako Dené Nation south of Quesnel is introducing stricter rules in its territory to try and curb the spread of COVID-19.

Overnight guests are not allowed, parties are not allowed, Lhtako Dené Community Hall can only be used by members, in-person meetings are rescinded and non-essential travel is strongly discouraged.

The Lhtako Dené playground will remain open with physical distancing measures.

Anyone sick is asked to call the administrative office for help picking up groceries or running errands.

“Should you need to drop off or pick up documents, cheques or submit rent, please call the office 250-747-2900 and we’ll meet you outside the administration office,” a notice signed by chief and council reads. “We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these difficult times.”

The rules came into effect on Sept. 20.
