Anyone with overdue library books should note the CRD has declared an amnesty from May 3 to 7 for fines up to $20 per library card.
As the amnesty is becoming an annual tradition of waiving fines, the CRD requests that people returning overdue items also bring along donations of non-perishable foods for their community food bank.
100 Mile House Branch librarian Roxy Barnes encourages folks to have a look for library items on their bookshelves and desks, and bring them in with an item or two for the 100 Mile House Food Bank.
“It’s a great way to help out the food bank, and also encourages people to bring their overdue items in.”
She adds CRD library fines are among the lowest in British Columbia.
“We don’t make a lot of money on our fines in reality, but we sure do want our books.”
