Lieutenant-governor coming to Comox

Lt.-Gov. Guichon will attend a number of events including the Comox Nautical Days Parade

Organizers of the Comox BC Day celebrations announced today the Honourable Judith Guichon, the lieutenant-governor of British Columbia, will be attending  many of the events scheduled in Comox for Monday, Aug. 1.

Lt.-Gov. Guichon will attend a number of events including the Comox Nautical Days Parade, the  official BC Day Ceremony in Marina Park and Mayor Paul Ives’ annual luncheon.

“We’re  delighted that Her Honour has chosen to celebrate BC Day with us in the Comox Valley,”  said Ives.

Lt.-Gov. Guichon has been to the Comox Valley on numerous occasions but this is the first time she will be attending the official BC Day Ceremony in Comox Marina Park as part of Comox  Nautical Days Festival.

The official ceremony is scheduled to begin immediately following the Comox Nautical Days Parade, at approximately noon.

The BC Day Ceremony includes an official welcome by  the Kumugwe Dancers from the K’ómox First Nation, a  performance by the Canadian  Military Wives Choir of Comox, as well as greetings from provincial and local dignitaries.
