SEVERAL TERRACE groups will receive community gaming grant money from the provincial government for support services to children, youth and a variety of people in need, as announced today by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
Fifteen organizations here will receive some of this gaming grant money.
More than 1,700 groups in the province are receiving more than $32 million in community gaming grants, which completing the fiscal year-end distribution of gaming grants to human and social services groups.
The total includes the extra three-month transition money announced last week for organizations facing a delay between their grant payments for this fiscal year and next.
Provincial organizations also receiving this money are the BC Hospice Palliative Care Association, which gets $115,000 and the Canadian Paraplegic Association – BC chapter, which will receive $294,500 that includes
$44,500 in three-month transition financing.
The province considers applications for community gaming grants four times a year, with each time devoted to a specific sector.
In total Terrace groups will receive $247,726. Below is a list of groups and the amounts they will get.
