Local man charged in brutal murder

A former 52-year-old 100 Mile House resident and his son have been charged with murder in the death of Dain Phillips of Kelowna.

Robert Charles Cocks, president of Hells Angels 100 Mile puppet club The Throttle Lockers, and his son, patch-wearing Hells Angels member, Norman Robert Cocks, are charged in the beating death.

According to media reports, Phillips was struck in the head with a baseball bat and hammers during a violent brawl in Kelowna on June 12.

Robert Cocks was charged in 100 Mile House in 2008 with possessing an unauthorized weapon and is due back in court for that case on July 12.
