The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating another homicide in Surrey, this time at 9112 147A St.
It is the city’s 23rd homicide of the year, an all-time high.
Surrey RCMP were called sometime around 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning, responding to reports of a fight inside the home. Police found two men with serious injuries, and both were transported to hospital. One man died, the other remains in critical condition. The injuries were not gunshot related.
“Inside that residence there were approximately 30 to 50 individuals,” Sgt. Jennifer Pound of IHIT told CTV News. “We have spoken with some of them, definitely not all of them, and at this point we’re looking to identify who those individuals were, and have them come forward and speak with investigators.”
Pound added police also want to identify three to five men who were seen fleeing the scene around the time of the incident.
This is not the first time police have attended the residence.
The leader reported in June 2012 that a 33-year-old Vancouver man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg and arm after attending a party at the house.
