Unlocked doors caused a few problems in the municipality last week and have Oak Bay police sounding the alarm that residents should lock up.
Someone walked through an unlocked door at a Brighton Avenue house around noon on March 21 and stole a Sony Playstation game system.
Oak Bay officers also found a business’ door unlocked while walking along Oak Bay Avenue on March 22.
Police regularly walk the street in the area and check doors, said Deputy Chief Thom.
“That’s kind of old-style policing,” he said.
Officers kept an eye on the business for a while, but no one walked in.
