Thieves work combo routine to nab a mitt full of chances to win

UPDATE: Thanks to tips from the public, police were able to identify and arrest the suspect who stole lottery tickets from a Glenmore gas station.

A 29-year-old from Fort St was arrested Monday night and faces potential charges of Theft Under $5000. He has since been released on a Promise to Appear for Court at a later date.

The Kelowna RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects who stole an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets.

Saturday morning, at 10:45 a.m., the theives entered the store at 395 Glenmore Road, near the IGA shopping complex. One proceeded to distract the clerk while the other took an undisclosed amount of lottery tickets from behind the service counter.

“The tow men are fully visible on video surveillance as no attempt was made to conceal their identity and it is suspected that they are not from the area,” said a statement from Kelowna RCMP released Monday
