The Lumby Golf Course is looking to gain memberships this year.

“Most of the members are seniors,” said Bev Lawrence, treasurer of the Lumby Golf Club.

The club is a non-profit organization which leases the land for the course from the city of Lumby.

The course has sand pits, it’s $5 per game and $100 for a year’s membership, she said.

“It’s such a nice little spot,” she said. “It’s sort of a landmark, it’s such a beautiful spot to go and picnic.”

Men’s golf is on Monday’s and ladies is on Wednesday.

The Lumby Golf Club has been around since 1961.

“It’s been here forever,” Lawrence said.

The course is still in need of a new club house, as the roof is sagging, but they have been unable to gather funding.
