Magnitude 6.1 earthquake reported off the coast of Haida Gwaii

The earth under the North Coast was shaking this morning as a magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit south of Haida Gwaii.

The earth under the North Coast was shaking this morning as a magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit south of Haida Gwaii.

Natural Resources Canada reports the quake happened at 6:56 a.m. this morning 167 kilometres south of the Village of Queen Charlotte. Although the quake was felt by some on the North Coast, no damage was reported and there was no risk of a tsunami.
