Cold weather is forecasted for the next several days with warmer temperatures late in the weekend.

It is currently clear, stable weather with extremely cold temperatures throughout the service area.  Roads are in winter driving conditions, and crews are engaged in post-storm cleanup activities.

This winter maintenance includes pushing shoulders back, stepping snow banks, cleaning signs, widening side roads and reducing sight line obstacles, as well as cleaning guardrail flares and bridge wheel guards.  All of this road maintenance involves slow moving equipment, and may involve traffic control with minor delays. Please watch for warning signs, equipment and crews throughout the district.

The next several days are forecasted for more cold weather with a possibility of more snowfall and warming temperatures late in the weekend.  We will provide an update as the forecast firms up.

Motorists should make sure they and their vehicles are prepared for extreme cold conditions, as temperatures could drop to below -30C over the next few nights.

As always, motorists should be frequently checking www.drivebc.ca for road conditions and it would be advisable to check Environment Canada for any weather warning or alerts before setting out on a trip.
