Man arrested after truck broken into in Maple Ridge

Man arrested after truck broken into in Maple Ridge

Ridge Meadows RCMP arrested a 28-year-old man after a truck was broken into Saturday.

Police were called to the 12000 block of York Street just before 6 a.m. Investigators found the owners of the truck physically restraining a male suspect, who was arrested at the scene.

“Auto crime remains a priority for all police agencies, and working with citizens is one of the ways we can reduce the number of victims,” said Cpl. Brenda Winpenny.

Kenneth Josef Remezoff, of Maple Ridge, has been charged with theft under $5,000.

After his arrest, he was held in police custody over the weekend, appearing in Port Coquitlam Provincial Court on Monday, Nov. 7.

Police remind owners to ensure their vehicles are locked, and to remove all items of any value.
