Man arrested at gun point in Saanich towing yard

With their guns drawn, Saanich police arrested a man Tuesday after threats involving a weapon were made against employees at the Motor Vehicle Branch on Borden Street.

The man’s vehicle had been impounded over the weekend, but the man was not the one driving and wanted his car back. Police say he threatened employees.

He headed to Totem Towing on Tennyson Avenue where his car was being held. Police were notified and they arrived at the lot prior to the man’s arrival.

He was arrested without incident, but due to the nature of the alleged threats, officers had their guns drawn.

As of yet, no charges have been laid.
