The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) has recommended charges against a 52-year-old man who allegedly touched and exposed himself near a school playground.
APD spokesman Const. Ian MacDonald said police received a complaint on Wednesday, June 25 at 2 p.m. regarding the incident.
A woman who was supervising children in a playground in the 33900 block of Pine Street saw a man apparently looking at the children while he was standing at the school fence.
He allegedly touched and exposed himself, then left the area in a red vehicle for which the licence plate was obtained.
One officer went to the school, while another went to the home of the registered owner of the vehicle.
A man matching the description provided by the witness was the sole occupant of a red vehicle that pulled into the driveway. He was arrested.
Police have recommended charged of committing an indecent act and indecent exposure.
MacDonald said the complainant is commended for not only calling police when witnessing the incident, but for providing detailed information that led to the man’s quick arrest.
