A Surrey man has been arrested and charged in relation to a hit and run incident last year.
On April 6, 2015, at about 5:45 p.m., a Surrey RCMP officer was conducting a traffic stop in the 12600-block of 92 Avenue when he heard a noise, and saw a person lying on the ground, with a silver car driving away.
The officer unsuccessfully attempted to stop the vehicle, while emergency personnel helped an 85 year old man with serious injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.
Aman Sanghera, 27, has now been charged with failure to stop at an accident causing bodily harm and dangerous driving. He was arrested on Nov. 3, appeared in court, and has subsequently been released pending his next court date.
“Hard work by investigators and intersection cameras helped to lead investigators to Sanghera who is alleged to have been the driver,” said RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann.
