Search warrants were executed by RCMP in connection with two separate child pornography investigations in Penticton between Oct. 28 and Nov. 1.
Const. James Grandy of the Penticton detachment said the warrants were served by local General Investigation Section (GIS) members with the assistance of the BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit and the Integrated Technological Crime Unit.
One man was arrested and released on “numerous strict conditions, according to Grandy.
“The RCMP takes child exploitation and pornography offences very seriously and will continue to investigate and arrest those who involve themselves in preying on children,” said Grandy in a news release. “The RCMP works alongside other law enforcement agencies around the globe to help identify those taking part in these kinds of crimes against the vulnerable.”
Further details about the identity of the man arrested and possible charges were not available.
