A man, possibly in a drug-induced psychosis, smashed the bedroom window of a ground-floor apartment on Langdon Street shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday morning.

The occupants, who have a small child, were enjoying a quiet Sunday morning together when he jumped in through the window. They quickly fled out the door.

“They’re definitely traumatized,” said Staff Sgt. Rick Stewart.

The family is now getting help from victim services, he said.

Several people called 911 when they heard the commotion. When Abbotsford Police officers arrived, they found the man in the apartment bathroom covered in blood with severe cuts to his body.

He was taken to hospital for the lacerations, which are not believed to be life threatening.

Stewart called the incident “extremely unusual.”
