An Abbotsford man has been charged in relation to a stabbing last Thursday on George Ferguson Way.

Seyed Milad Mirhosseini, 32, has been charged with aggravated assault.

Police were called to the 32700 block of George Ferguson Way just after 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 29.

A man had entered a business in the area and was bleeding from his stomach.

He told police he had been stabbed during an altercation with a man in the parking lot.

The two men knew each other, according to police, but the assailant fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to hospital via air ambulance and is recovering from the assault.

Mirhosseini was arrested about three hours after the incident.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the investigation is continuing, and police have identified more than 30 witnesses but believe there could be more.
