The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 87 calls for service from March 13th, 8 AM till March 16th, 8 AM. During the same time period sixteen people were lodged in Terrace Cells. Fourteen of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
- Domestic dispute. A man left prior to police attendance. He returned to the residence a short time later. The 43 yr old intoxicated man was arrested.
- Familial dispute. Investigation determined that an intoxicated 36 yr old man entered a residence and assaulted his mother. Threats were uttered; money and a bank card were stolen. Under investigation.
- A rock was thrown through the window of a business on the 4700 block of Lazelle Ave sometime during the night of March 12/13.
- Employee of Safeway arrested an intoxicated 58 yr old man for shoplifting. Police arrested the man. He is banned from Safeway.
- Domestic dispute. A man biting a woman. Police spoke with the people involved. Unfounded. A 35 yr old intoxicated woman was arrested.
- A red 2012 Ford Explorer sustained damage to the front passenger side door in a hit and run while it was parked in the Mills Memorial Hospital parking lot.
- Deceased 58 yr old man at a residence on Kofoed Dr.
- Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 42 yr old man for shoplifting. He is banned from the store.
- A white Pontiac being driven in an erratic manner on Hwy 16 west. The vehicle was pulled over. The 28 yr old driver had three passengers in the vehicle which was contrary to the restrictions of his Class 7N driver’s licence.
- A brown 1987 Ford F150 was pulled over in the parking lot of Safeway. The 51 yr old driver was suspended from driving. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel. The truck was impounded.
- Loud party complaint on Kofoed Dr/Clark St. Police spoke with an intoxicated man in the area and checks determined that he was breaching his probation condition of not to consume alcohol. The 26 yr old man was arrested. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
- A man was assaulted sometime during the night of March 12/13 while walking in the area of Kalum St/Park Ave. He may have been knocked out. He woke up in the area of a back alley by Trigo’s suffering numerous minor injuries.
- Breach of a curfew condition. Under investigation.
- Three break and enters on Westside Dr on Lakelse Lake. A Sony Bravia 22 inch flatscreen TV and a Sony Blue Ray player were stolen from one of the cabins.
- Possibly a stolen Iphone 5. A person purchased the phone second hand. Under investigation.
- A black leather purse with two straps, a flap on one side and a zipper on the other, containing cards and cash, was lost on March 13 possibly at the Copperside Foods on Hwy 16 west.
- Domestic dispute in the area of Park Ave/Emerson St. Police arrested a 41 yr old woman. It was the second domestic between the couple in twelve hours. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
- Employee of Safeway arrested a man for shoplifting. The man resisted the arrest. Police arrested the 46 yr old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
- Suicidal 12 yr old boy. Police apprehended the boy under the Mental Health Act and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
- Theft of a pink antique style wallet containing various cards and ID was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked on Haugland Ave.
- AWOL 19 yr old woman.
- Domestic dispute. Police spoke with a man and a woman, both having consumed excessive amounts of marihuana. They had burnt butter on the stove, causing panic and mayhem. Police ensured all elements on the stove were turned off and the couple agreed to go to bed.
- A purple colored jet boat being driven in an erratic manner on the Skeena River with seven people including two children on board. Nobody wearing life jackets.
