Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 101 calls for service from August 28th, 8a.m. till August 31st, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, 16 people were lodged in Terrace cells – 10 of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Here are some of the calls responded to:
A grey Toyota Corolla pulling out of a parking lot on Park Ave. struck a pedestrian causing minor injury.
A man passed out in the washroom of a business on Lakelse Ave. Checks determined that the man was breaching probation by having consumed alcohol. The 34-year-old man was arrested and charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
Domestic assault. A man pushed and choked a woman. Police arrested a 25-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
An elderly Caucasian man with white hair, a beard, and a baseball cap driving a blue GMC Van offered money to a young woman to get into a vehicle with him. The woman gestured for the man to leave and he finally did after following her around for a short period of time.
Three overdue mushroom pickers on the West Kalum Forest Service Road. Terrace Search and Rescue was activated. The ill-prepared men ended up spending the night in the forest when they didn’t make it back to their quads prior to darkness setting in.
A black Nike backpack containing a black HP laptop, men’s clothing, and personal items including inhalers was found on a cement guard rail on Max Neubacher Way.
Intoxicated man passed out at a business on Kalum St. Checks determined that the man was breaching probation condition of not be outside of his residence when under the influence of alcohol. The 29-year-old man was arrested and held for court.
A car on the train tracks 45 km west of Terrace. Police observed a vehicle that had been involved in some sort of incident with nobody around. Under investigation.
An intoxicated person breaching his probation order inside of a residence. Police arrested a 24-year-old man. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
