A young man from West Kelowna was sent to hospital early Sunday morning after apparently being swarmed in downtown Kelowna.

A group of suspects allegedly attacked the 20-year-old victim on Cawston Avenue at 1 a.m., leaving him unconscious in the street.

“Details are very limited, but witnesses reported that there were four men, described as Caucasian and between the ages of 20 to 25 years old,” said Kris Clark, spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP. “…Two of the men were dressed in hooded sweatshirts.”

The victim’s injuries were initially classified as “serious and potentially life threatening,” though he is now recovering well and expected to be released from hospital soon. He does not know his attackers.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or leave a tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
