Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 37 calls for service from January 7th, 8 a.m. till January 8th, 8 a.m.
During the same time period, four people were lodged in Terrace cells – three of these people were lodged for intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
Man passed out in front of the post office on Lazelle Ave. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to the man’s level of intoxication. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.
Intoxicated man not leaving a restaurant on Lazelle Ave. Checks determined that the man was breaching his probation condition of not to be outside of his residence when under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested the 22-year-old man. He is held for court.
Intoxicated woman causing problems on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 47-year-old woman.
False business alarm on Lazelle Ave.
Elsewhere Terrace
Abandoned vehicle at a gas bar on Hwy 16. Police spoke with the business manager and contacted the registered owner.
False alarm on Sparks St.
Three boys playing in the street near Kalum St./Straume Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Assault. A man had another man over for coffee and then was beaten up. Police discussed the incident with the man.
Missing 45-year-old man. Police located him at a common hangout shortly after the call.
Hit and run that occurred on November 14th in the Mills Memorial Hospital parking lot.
A person throwing things around possibly intoxicated. Police spoke with the people involved.
Disturbance near the library on Park Ave. Checks were done of the area.
A woman’s blue/white/silver wallet with a double zipper containing various cards and ID was lost on January 5th.
Warrants were issued for a 40-year-old man, 35-year-old woman, 36-year-old man, and 31-year-old woman for failing to attend court.
Harassing phone calls. Police provided advice on the matter.
Assault investigation. Two men attended to a residence and assaulted a man. There is also an allegation of a sexual assault related to this matter. Under investigation.
A man reported himself as intoxicated and wanted to be arrested at the damp shelter. Police spoke with the man who changed his mind because he would not be provided a blanket in cells. Investigation determined that the 47-year-old man was causing problems at the shelter so he was arrested.
Man passed out in a snowbank near the library. Police requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to the man’s level of intoxication. The 28-year-old man was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. A group of intoxicated people were observing the police interaction and when dispersing, a 17-year-old girl slipped and struck her head. Police transported the girl to the hospital. Once at the hospital, police were advised of an intoxicated person passed out in the washroom. Police arrested a 52-year-old man.
Police conducted a check on a man currently on a conditional sentence order with conditions. The 40-year-old man was in breach. Under investigation.
A snowmobiler pulling a skier on Halliwell Ave./Eby St doing jumps. Checks were done of the area.
Barking dogs woke their owner up. She observed two prowlers in her driveway. They left prior to police attendance. Footprints in the area suggested they were looking for opportunities to steel from unlocked vehicles.
General assistance requested. Police transported a 25-year-old man to the shelter on Hall St.
Intoxicated group causing problems at the damp shelter. Police located the group at McDonald’s. Arrangements were made for accommodation for all but one.
Well-being check. Police spoke with a woman. No issues.
Assist Ministry of Children and Families with two investigations.
Thornhill
A man is not happy with his picture being posted on Facebook. Police spoke with the people involved. The man reported the incident again saying that he was threatened. Police spoke with the people involved again.
A dog was hit and it was yelping. Police attended to a residence and observed dogs yelping. No issues.
A check was conducted on a man on conditions to be living at a specific residence. The man is in breach. Under investigation.
Rural
A white 2004 Chevrolet truck in the ditch on Hwy 16 east of Terrace. The driver had lost control and hit the ditch. Minor damage to the truck and minor injuries to the driver.
