The man charged in a string of intentionally set fires in April has pleaded guilty to eight counts of mischief.
Martin Arthur Taylor, 54, will be on probation for one year and will be barred from owning firearms for five years, according to Nanaimo court services.
The incident involved a series of small fires set on the morning of April 23, beginning in the Nicol Street area. Taylor was arrested later that day at Port Place Shopping Centre, following a chase by police.
