Man suffers head injuries after diving into unknown water near Coalmont

A swimmer suffered head and neck injuries after diving into the water and striking an underwater rock.

On August 3, 2014 Princeton RCMP along with BC Ambulance Services with called to China Creek Beach on the Tulameen River near Coalmont after receiving a report of an injured swimmer who had suffered head and neck injuries after diving into the water and striking an underwater rock.

The unnamed male had been fishing on the river and returned to join his friends at China Beach.  The male dove into the water, without checking for obstacles and his head struck a submerged rock.  Several beach goers immediately rescued the male and an off duty fireman provided first aid and stabilized the male until medical help arrived.

The male was transported to Princeton hospital for further examination.  The extent of his injuries are unknown at this time
