Man threatens to kill police

Terrace RCMP called when man refuses to leave a residence

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 24 calls for service from August 19th, 8 a.m. till August 20th, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were eight people lodged in Terrace Cells – seven of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

various personal property found in the parking lot of a business on Park Ave. Police advised the owner to attend and pick up the belongings.

a brown material purse containing a brown wallet with various cards and ID was left behind at the Kentucky Fried Chicken at approximately 1 p.m.

intoxicated man passed out on the 4700 block of Lakelse Ave. A 31-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

intoxicated group outside of the Spirit Night Club, one man passed out in the middle of Emerson St. Four people ages 36, 71, 57, and 46 were arrested for public intoxication.

during patrol, police observed a group of men sitting in the picnic area by Tim Horton’s on Lakelse Ave. Upon approaching the men open alcohol was observed. A 25-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication after he cleaned up the garbage and empty beer cans with the assistance of the three other mildly intoxicated men with him.

Elsewhere Terrace

man living in the bushes near the 2700 block of Kalum St. Ongoing issues with the man using the bushes as a washroom causing unpleasant odors in the area. Police spoke with a 59-year-old man sleeping on a mattress in the described bushes. The man claimed he goes across the road to relieve himself and accused another man of causing the mess. He agreed to find an alternate location to set up his camp.

a woman walking her dog on Walsh Ave./Kenney St. when she was harassed by two men. Police discussed the situation with the woman. The incident had occurred 13 hours prior to it being reported.

a black nylon wallet containing various cards and ID was stolen, possibly by the man’s friend. Police spoke with the man and discussed a course of action.

a sliding glass patio door was broken by a rock on Sparks St. Vandalism occurring more frequently. Police discussed preventative measures to combat this ongoing issue.

fraud investigation involving an elderly person.

a man with no identification requesting police assistance in boarding an aircraft. Police could not confirm the man’s identity.

false business alarm on Kalum St.

domestic disturbance. Police spoke with the people involved. Unsubstantiated.

AWOL 26-year-old man. He returned on his own accord a few hours later.

man refusing to leave a residence on Loen Ave. He threatened to kill police officers who arrived on scene and held a weapon. He also repeatedly told police officers to shoot him. OC spray was deployed on the man when he continued to not follow direction. He was arrested without incident. Charge is being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

assist Smithers RCMP with a motor vehicle incident.

police observed an intoxicated man staggering down Keith Ave with a jacket on upside down. The man was transported to a family residence where nobody was home. Police arrested the 83-yea-old man for public intoxication.

false business alarm on Park Ave.

false 911 call from Lazelle Ave.

Thornhill

false residential alarm on Walker St. Ongoing issue.

threatening phone messages. Police gave advice on the matter.

Rural

a white 2012 Dodge Ram was rear ended by a white 1996 Geo Metro on Kalum St./Keith Ave. The Geo did not stop. Under investigation. No damage to the Dodge and no injuries.

a man was assaulted in another community in a domestic assault. Further investigation to be done by Smithers RCMP.

intoxicated man passed out on Heppel Ave. Police assisted the 59-year-old man back into his residence.

Kitsumkalum

threats. Police spoke with the people involved. Threats were uttered both ways. Advice was given on the matter.
