Burns Lake RCMP are investigating following a fatal pedestrian collision Friday afternoon.

According to police, a male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the 7200-block of Hwy. 35 just after 5:20 p.m.

When Mounties arrived, the man was being treated by paramedics and was transported to hospital where he subsequently died of his wounds.

Approximately an hour beforehand, police had received two reports of a man dressed in all black clothing walking south on the southbound side of Hwy. 35.

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has determined that there was no police involvement in the man’s death.
