The Abbotsford Police Department’s domestic violence unit is asking for the public’s help to try to locate Richard Allen Trent, 49.
Trent is wanted for assault by choking, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and uttering threats against an animal.
Trent is described as 6′ 2″ and 170 pounds with blue eyes and short grey hair that is balding.
He might be driving a grey 1998 Cadillac Deville with BC licence plate LD689R.
Trent has prior convictions for offences such as resisting a peace officer, assault, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm contrary to an order, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession for the purpose of trafficking, theft, robbery and breaching his bail and probation conditions.
Anyone with information about Trent’s whereabouts is asked to call the APD at 911 or 604-859-5225.

Meanwhile, a man previously wanted for domestic assault is now in police custody.
The APD indicated on Sept. 22 that they were trying to find Morgan Knull, 27, who was wanted for assault by choking, assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats. According to the provincial court database, those offences occurred on Sept. 14 and 18.
The database also indicates that Knull faces new charges for an alleged offence on Sept. 28. Those charges are resisting a peace officer and two counts of assault with a weapon causing harm.
According to the provincial court database, Knull has multiple prior convictions, mainly for break-and-enter, but also for assault, possession of stolen property over $5,000, theft, assault with a weapon, trafficking in a controlled substance, mischief, and breaching his bail and probation conditions.
