A man armed with a handgun robbed an Abbotsford restaurant on Sunday night.
Abbotsford Police are now seeking witnesses and anyone else with information.
The incident occurred at about 10 p.m. at the Subway restaurant in the 2600 block of McMillan Road.
Const. Ian MacDonald said no customers were in the business when a man walked in, displayed a gun and demanded cash from the 17-year-old female employee who was working out front.
A 22-year-old female worker in the back did not witness the incident.
The suspect then fled the restaurant on foot with an undisclosed amount of money, and the staff members called police.
Patrol division officers and a K9 unit tracked the suspect a distance from the restaurant but did not locate him. It is not known whether the gun he used was real or fake.
The man is described as Caucasian, about 40 years old, 5′ 5″, with a scruffy beard and wearing a dark hoodie and dark pants.
MacDonald said police are now looking through surveillance video from the scene, as well as from neighbouring businesses. It is believed the man did not pull up the hood of his jacket until just before he entered Subway, and police hope to obtain clear images of his face.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
