Thefts drop

Ridge Meadows RCMP report significant decreases in theft from vehicles in the past year.

The thefts are down by 37 per cent  in Maple Ridge and 20 per cent in Pitt Meadows.

Police believe people are heeding their advice and taking proper precautions to prevent the thefts.

“Removing valuable items from your vehicle, or at least making sure valuables are out of sight make it less inviting to thieves,” said Cpl. Alanna Dunlop.

“We want citizens to continue with this practice.  We also encourage citizens to call police if they see anyone acting suspicious around parked vehicles.”
